The Moon Was Near

A boat drifts on an undulating sea, its oars at rest, its ladder stretching impossibly toward the stars. Inspired by Cosmicomics by Italo Calvino, this piece imagines a world where the moon dips so low that, with the right timing, one could reach out and climb aboard. It is a story of wonder and longing, of the thin and trembling space between the possible and the impossible.

Created using traditional art mediums, Rive, and After Effects, this experiment brings together the handmade and the digital to capture a fleeting dream—the kind that slips through your fingers just as you begin to grasp it. The waves churn, the night sky watches, and the boat waits, poised between the pull of the sea and the promise of ascent.
